One caution about the Rice Krispie treats. I have a GF coworker & I luckily thought to verify that Rice Krispies are GF. They aren’t! They have malt syrup in them. So if you need GF treats, you need to use one of the several GF crisped rice cereals out there. Whole Foods carries a couple.
Thanks for this excellent collection of holiday cookies and tips. The Brown-Butter Pumpkin Cookies and Gingerbread Blondies are definitely calling my name! Merry Christmas to you both!
I just had a Brown-Butter Pumpkin Cookie and I highly recommend them if you like pumpkin-ginger snap-molasses type of cookies! I also made the oatmeal cranberry cookies you write about a while ago. I used dried cherries and they are delicious!! Thank you for your enthusiasm!!
Great idea to sub dried cherries in the oatmeal cranberry cookies. I must give that a try. I do love ginger snaps, which I remember my mother making years ago. They always had that crinkled top with some crunchy sugar complementing the ginger flavor. I can’t wait to try this version. Thanks again for your tips about the different types of butter.
