FROM CARVING TO GRAVY: TURKEY HELP IS HERE!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! It’s Turkey Time!!
The day is here. It’s the one holiday that focuses solely on the food. If you are following Anthony’s Turkey Timeline and you’ve already made his make-ahead gravy, you can relax and enjoy the day as much as everyone else! If you haven’t done anything yet, have no fear. It’s not much harder to make than any other dinner you’ve ever made!
Just sub out the pies and delegate a few tasks… And, by all means, make a Quirky Turkey and take it eeaasssyy!
THE QUIRKY TURKEY
I can’t resist making this drink with Wild Turkey—for obvious reasons… If someone coming to your house doesn’t drink “brown water,” you can make it with vodka, tequila, and even rum—it’s equally quirky!
2 ounces (4 tablespoons) Wild Turkey Bourbon (or any bourbon you like)
3 ounces (6 tablespoons) cranberry juice
2 Lime wedges; one for the juice, and one for garnish
Fill an old-fashioned glass with a large cube of ice, pour the bourbon over the ice, add cranberry juice and stir gently. Squeeze the juice of a lime on top and garnish with the other lime.
FROM CARVING TO GRAVY—TURKEY HELP IS HERE!
Sure, Thanksgiving is about the food, but it is also about taking the time in our warp-speed world to relax and enjoy each other’s company. And if someone annoys you, smile and pretend you didn’t hear them. Remember, just because someone says something to you, doesn’t mean you have to respond!
Because of all this, we don’t think you need a *new* recipe today, but we are offering our refresher course in carving, Anthony’s gravy, as well as three ways to cook a turkey—oven-roast, grill or smoke. We even have ideas for what to do with your leftovers below. If you have some questions—like “what temp should the oven be?”, we’ve got you covered. Our archives have it all!
